I too have used this configuration without mishap. Ships power to battery to iFly 720. I have noticed that the battery gets pretty warm in direct sunlight (my Bonanza has big windows) so I have created a little shade device over the battery...a 3x5 card velcroed to the battery. That keeps the battery case cool. It is not elegant but it is simple and effective.
