Yesterday, while flying, I attempted to change the screen orientation from landscape to portrait. During the restart, the unit basically froze up when I try to initiate the navigation mode. Even this morning, the unit will not start up the navigation mode. I tried doing a software re-update through a USB, and the unit still will not bring up the nav mode. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Michael,

We can try to manually reset all your settings to see if that resolves the problem. To do this, put your SD card from your iFly into your computer. Using Explorer (or the mac equivilant), rename the \User folder to \UserBackup. Then put the card back in your iFly - does it work properly now in Portrait mode?

If yes...try rotating to portrait again and see if you still have a problem. If so, please contact our support desk for help.

Thanks,
Walter

Walter,

Thank you for the reply! I'll try that tonight when I get home.

Walter,

I was able to initate the nav mode after completing your instructions. The unit opened up the nav mode to the landscape setting. I then tried rotating the view to the portrait left. The unit did not like this and froze up...just like before. I changed the user file name again and was able to restart the unit and initate the nav mode in landscape. I then tried rotating the view to the portrait right. The unit did not freeze up and I was able to then rotate the view back to landscape without issues. It appears, with my unit at least, that it does not like the portrait left function.

Okay, I think I know what's going on. We need to reinstall your OS so rotating either way will work properly. If you follow the instructions on this page, you should be fixed: https://www.iflygps.com/SUPPORT/iFlyO...

Thanks!
Walter
