I loaded everything including Streets on the 8GB card, with about 200MB left over. So it will work. But if you want to load some music or video for in flight entertainment, you might not have enough room. But I am sure there is some stuff you can forgo, like charts for places you never go.

Next time you run an update, if it prompts you to make room, they deleting Alaska, if you don't plan on going there for a while. This alone will free up almost 1 gig. You can always load it later. Also, we do offer a larger 16gb card option on our store. Just a thought if you really want the extra space.

Something to consider: If space is really tight on the card, the files will "fragment" during the update process. Over time this will cause some performance degradation.

Greetings.

I've been using a 32GB card with no problems. I should also say that my music is on the 32GB card eliminating the need for a USB stick. Any problems with this?

It's puzzling to me that the Streets component is tied to the 8GB card as one would still need the unit to run the Streets software. Am I missing something?

iFly Streets is tied to the SD card for licensing reasons. We co-developed iFly Streets and we cannot allow it to be duplicated from card to card, under our agreement. This is the only way the third-party would agree to it.

In most cases, the 8gb card should be just fine on space, but for those that is it not, just have a larger 32gb card for aviation and use the 8gb Streets card for streets. Maybe just keep it in your flight bag... It's not possible to run both at the same time, just a swap and your ready to drive. This is how many of the dedicated devices like AvMap, BK and Lowrance handle it. Thanks for your understanding.
