Maybe there is an easier way, but here is what I have been trying. I take my last flight plan and use it to build the next leg. I delete the departure and the destination remains. I use the "Opts" button to add a new waypoint, say the destination. When I go to "Save As", the description remains as the old flight plan description. I then can't find a way to change it, but why wouldn't it have accepted the new data as the new description.

Somehow I'm completely not understanding your question...I'm confused by what you mean by "description".

When I click "Save As" from the flight plan screen, I get a dialog box with the filename, and there's a big ol' keyboard so that I can change the filename to whatever I want. There is no "description" (although the suggested filename is derived from the waypoints).

Do you see something different?

Assuming that by "description", you really mean "filename", then re: your question about "why wouldn't it have accepted the new data", I think that when you start a new flight plan from scratch, after you've entered some waypoints and then click "Save As", the suggested filename is essentially a concatenation of all your waypoints. Once you save it, the iFly thinks the current flight plan and the saved flight plan are related, so if you then edit the current plan and go to re-save it, it uses the same name you just gave it.

If you clear it out and start over, then you'll start the cycle anew.

But if you don't want it to re-use the same name you previously saved under, then use the keyboard on the screen and give it whatever name you like.

One other thought...if your flight plans are really no more complicated than two-waypoint "origination" and "destination" straight lines, then it might be easier not to save them anyway. The iFly remembers your last flight plan even after being powered off, so it might be just as easy to simply delete the origin and enter the new destination at the start of your leg, instead of saving them in advance and then clicking "Load" and scrolling through a list of filenames in the plane.

Alternately, you can list all your legs in a single flight plan, and identify the intermediate waypoints as landing sites. Once you have the airport in your flight plan, click the "Opts" button next to it and select "Land Here".
