There is not a "standard" waypoint that I'm aware of. The iFly has the intersections and navaids that are visible on the sectionals and enroute charts, but there are some that are only displayed on approach plates which may be missing. This is something we will get added.
Walter,
I know you guys are busy with Sun'n'Fun and the new version release, so feel free to put this in the "low priority" pile, but I wanted to revisit this topic.
Since my original post, two things have happened to keep this topic on my radar: I've gotten my instrument rating and the iFly has gotten georeferenced approach plates.
While flying IFR ast weekend, I requested and got the RNAV (GPS) RWY 30 approach into T41, cleared direct to PORRI and then to fly the procedure as published. After setting up my 430W with the approach, I wanted to rubber-band my flight path on the approach plate on the iFly to match.
When I tried to rubber-band the path to PORRI instead of the center of the airport, the iFly did not recognize that fix. Of course it let me use the lat/lon of the spot where I lifted my finger, which was close enough for my purposes, but I would have liked the warm fuzzy of it snapping right to PORRI.
Would it be possible to get the fixes that appear in published arrival / departure / approach procedures added to the iFly's "known waypoint" database?
I really have no idea how difficult that might be, so if it's not practical, I understand. Just thought I'd ask.
