I've been using iFlyGPS for a year but have just now decided to connect it to ADS-B in. I have put together a Stratux box for this. Everything is stock out of the box. I don't have the GPS or the AHRS boards, only the two USB software defined radios. The Stratux box seems to be working fine. I can connect my tablet to it via wifi, open the web browser, and see and use Stratux via the web interface. But when I try to get iFlyGPS to connect to Stratux using the same tablet I don't get a connection. The "ADSB Status" pages just says "Waiting for Device". Is there some sort of magic I am missing? iFlyGPS is version 11.1.26 and Stratux is version 1.6r1-eu025.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Bob

From that ADSB status window, click "Options" and then "Change Selected Device".  Is it currently set to AUTO-DETECT?  If so, try changing it to Stratux/Flightbox and see if there's any change.  (And if it's set to Stratux/Flightbox, try changing it to AUTO-DETECT.)

You said you were able to log into the Stratux web interface, so I think this question is already answered, but just to be sure--confirm the tablet is connected to the Stratux's wifi before you launch iFly?

Without a GPS or AHRS onboard, and likely without a connection to any ADSB ground towers if you're trying to test this connection from home, the Stratux probably doesn't have any data to send to iFly.  I'm not sure if that makes any difference in how iFly reports whether it's connected or not.

I have tried both AUTO-DETECT and Stratux/FlightBox. Same with both.

Yep, the tablet is connected via WiFi to the Stratux box.

As for data, the iFlyGPS status screen says it is looking for a heartbeat. I would suspect that would be available all the time. I am also receiving targets over the 1090 receiver. So there is data available. I can see it on the Stratux web interface.

Any chance the Stratux API changed? Anyone else using Stratux 1.6r1-eu025 (the latest from Dec 2020)?

There are some hardline stratux guys on here but I'll tell you it's 99% going to be an issue with stratux. I don't recommend them at all. Might be a fun thing to do around the house if you want to have a raspberry pi but absolutely not something i would have in the cockpit. We offer the far superior AstroLink by Levil that I personally fly with.

I just tried this with iFlyGPS on my iPhone. It seems to work just fine on my iPhone. That kinda points back to something quirky about your Android version. Unfortunately I use my tablet for flying. FWIW, iFlyGPS is version 11.1.26 on my Galaxy tablet and version 11.1.25 on my iPhone.
