I'm still not seeing it. When I optimize a plan, I get this screen:

And then I tap "Options" , and get this:

I'm not seeing a "Reset Altitudes" option.

I'm seeing what you are seeing on iPad Mini 4. On iPhone 6S Plus, I'm seeing the Reset Altitudes button. Both devices on 9.7.87b dated 1/9/2017 . Weird.

Now, I'm not seeing the Reset Altitudes. I have no idea what's going on with it. There is some variable somewhere.

One variable is that this is an Android forum and you're on Apple products.

True, but I would think Brian would have basic stuff such as this working the same way on all devices. It seems like it is now, but that doesn't explain what was going on just a few minutes ago.
