Old thread, but when I tried the stratux with AHRS board, it seemed to work just fine.  AHRS board is only, what, $15?

Hi folks. I was wondering if the ability for iFly to directly configure Stratus 3 into Open mode, without the use an iDevice and Horizon Pro has been addressed yet? I know there are other priorities so didn’t know if this had gotten any attention yet.
Thanks

I don't know how this project is coming along, but if you have the Stratus3 and need it set to  Open Mode, perhaps you could talk a nearby pilot into loading the Horizon app on their iDevice and switching the Stratus3 to Open Mode.  It *should* not need to be set again.

Hi folks,

I contacted Appareo and they confirmed that once set to Open mode, the Stratus 3 *should* stay in that mode despite power cycles. They also indicated that they understand that some EFB programs running on Android (Wing X pro and flightplan go) are able to set the Stratus 3 into Open mode without the use of their Apple only app, but it was just their understanding and could not confirm.

If anyone out there has a Stratus 3, could you please verify that the Stratus 3 remains in open mode through power cycles? I haven’t purchased a Stratus 3 yet because I was waiting to know for sure that I’ll be able to use it with my Android. But I see the new device from Levil (Astro Link) is coming out soon and wonder how it will compare to the Stratus 3.

Thanks,
Jim

As of yet, we have not fixed this bug yet, but intend on having it fixed for 10.4 due.   Release date is still TBD.
