Words are confusing when you don't say what data you are turning off. He assumed you meant WIFI. I said maybe you meant turn off cellular data. To receive ADS-B in flight your tablet will be connected to your ADS-B device via bluetooth or WIFI. Most are WIFI I believe.

Works great with the Galaxy Tab S2 64gb version. Even on local sight seeing/lunch hops I never leave home without it or my pathfinder unit

If it is going to reside in the plane, consider the iFly hardware, 700 or 740 or whatvver. AIUI, their screens are **daylight** readable, where none of the tablets are. I have to do little tricks and hoods and stuff for my Galaxy Tab S to be even readable at times, so let that be a consideration as well. (I have no stock in the Adventure company)

I just bought a Lenovo tab 4, 8 inch.  So far it works great with the Lynx NGT9000 WIFI.  I run the 740 as primary and will use the Lenovo to look up frequencies, airport info etc..  I also have a 700 as backup.  The total cost at Amazon for the pad, glass screen protectors, and case was $160.  No issues to date.
