I could see where autorotation might be annoying under certain circumstances if using a yoke mount. Any time you need to make large aileron deflections, during turbulence, slipping, initiating steep turns would seem to cause the autorotation feature to activate. I would imagine that instances like this is why having the option to disable autorotation would be desirable.

So, why would it annoy you? The fact that other people could use it and enjoy it would be a problem? I should also add that the other app I use that has it has NEVER accidently rotated on it's own using a kneeboard or the RAM mount. It just doesn't happen.

Sorry, Jim. Walter asked folks how important they thought the feature was. For me, it's not important at all--if the screen ever changed orientation away from portrait mode while I was using it, it would not be desirable. I would turn off the feature to prevent that from occurring.

I recognize others may find this feature desirable. I was simply voicing my own personal opinion, as Walter requested.

I think the point is that auto-rotation does not mean changing orientation without the pilot physically rotating the tablet and typically includes the ability to turn off the feature altogether. I know that from trying a pretty good number of apps that do it.

As I said it's not a priority for me either since I haven't rotated my tablet in flight in 3 years except to see if I wanted to (the same period of time in which my app has not changed orientation all by itself).

Yes, I understand this.
