I have the same one that Jim is recommending. It fits perfectly, is 100% secure, and has no protruberances to bump into or take up space.

The downside, of course, is that it is dedicated to the N7. If/when I change tablets, though, getting a replacement RAM tray will not be a noticeable percentage of the total cost, so even as a confirmed cheapskate I don't really care.

I use a yoke mount with a variation. Instead of a prefab cradle on the tablet end, I use a suction cup. So long as the back of the tablet is smooth, it will hold well. The advantage over a cradle is more left-right-up-down positioning freedom.

Now moving to a 7" tablet, I have used it successfully with a full-size iPad in single-engine Cessnas, Pipers, Bonanzas and Mooneys without significant blocking (to me anyway) of any instruments, including while doing instrument approaches in actual.

If it is the spring loaded X style that is designed to clamp multiple tablets, dont waste your money. I bought one for my tablet, it clamps it well but the whole assembly rocks back and forth. It is hard to explain but same design that allows the clamp to open and clamp the tablet also lets it rock after clamping. The amount that the X can open bigger than the tablet is the amount it can rock.
