It seems my ability to share flight plans with other devices works only in 1 direction.

  • While connected to my home WiFi with both devices...
    • If I turn off sharing in iFlyGPS on both devices (Windows laptop & iPhone), then turn on sharing from the Windows app, the iPhone gives me a prompt and picks up the new plan, plus any further changes made from the Windows side.
    • If, instead, I turn off sharing on both devices and then share from the iPhone, I never get prompted on Windows, and no plan loads.

I'm guessing this is a firwall issue, but possibly not.  If it is firewall related, what inbound port # must I open?

Chris

Yes.  11.1.25

I have also found the following additional complication/symptom:

Syncing from Windows to the iPhone works only until the iPhone is locked.  After that, sync does not work and cannot be coerced to start again without first restarting the iPhone iFly application.  The Windows app doesn't need to be restarted in this scenario.

Still testing to see what else I can find...

Pretty sure this isn't the first report of finicky FP sync behavior on iPhones, and I'm pretty sure a solution was found, but I'm not an iOS guy so I don't remember the details.  There may be clues elsewhere on the forum, though.
