Ok Walter I will give that a try. On the serial port management page there are three selection non that are user selectable. 1) do not use, 2) Auto detect device and 3) GPS default.

Why can you not select GPS default?

Martin, sounds like you are needing two sources to be driven off the single serial 740b gps NMEA connection which should work. Somewhere behind that breakout board their are two serial INPUT wires, one for the D10 and one for the tru trac. You are needing the D10a driven as well as your tru trac With a gps signal. Correct? You might first attemp to drive only one device set up and see results then add that second wire into the mix.Be sure the polarity on both inputs match ie input in And signal ground . If you get one to work then make sure the second one is not grounding due to signal wires reversed. IN AND OUT can get confusing. That might help with troubleshooting. BUT Do what Walter Says first.

Yes two units to use the GPS source. One is the Trutrak A/P the other is the Dynon D10A for wind read out.

I tried what Wlater suggested and check all the wiring. So at this piont the unit is going back to the IFY to be bench tested. I am thinking the auto detect on the IFly is not seeing the other units. So we are going to try and set the default GPS up on the serial port and just stream the NMEA data.

I too have issues with this NMEA output and a TruTrak Vision.  While my installation works and does drive the autopilot, there are times when even though there is a great GPS lock and no issues with the IFLY, the TruTrak says NO GPS and continues to do so forever UNLESS, I turn off the power to the IFly and turn it back on, then after it re-establishes the GPS fix the NMEA output works and the TruTrack is happy.  When the IFly gets in this "I am NOT going to produce an output" mode, then even if the flight lasts 4 hours and the IFly works perfectly at displaying the course and my position and there are many satellites locked, it will not send any output to the TruTrak unless the 740 Power is cycled and GPS re-established.  AsloI have tried checking and unchecking the ADS-b in box (used ADDS-b position and that does not make any difference either.  Any idea why this is happening?

I have the IFly 740B and a Trutrak 385 Vizion autopilot. TheA/P does not detect the GPS signsl from the IFly 740B. Nor does the D10A see a GPS sigal from the IFly. The A/P head has been sent back t the factory and was bench tested to see if it was working correctly. It was but still and is still not able to get any GPS information form the 740B.

Has anyone got the 740 to talk to the Trutrak A/P?

Yes, Mine works just fine...when it works, and to be fair it works most of the time.  Problem is thtat sometimes the Tru Trak just will not say it sees any GPS info and when it gets in those moods, no matter how long I wait. the TruTrak does not get the info even for a 4 hour flight, unless I cycle the power to the 740. Then most of the time the GPS info apparently gets sent out.  It does not matter if I cycle the power to the TruTrak, it will never see the GPS info, the cycling must be done by the 740 to work.  Since I only have the one device hooked to the NMEA output and since I only have the xmit wire connected to the TruTrak, it is not being confused or conflicted, or otherwise.  And also since it DOES work usually after restarting the 740, obviously the baud rate, etc is correct.  Once connected and working on a flight it NEVER loses the GPS link.  I can fly coupled to the autopilot for hours, no issues.
