I'll let Jeff id the airport if he wants to but I don't think he'll mind me clarifying that it's most definitely an FAA registered airport at around 6000 feet, immediately adjacent to Restricted airspace. I can easily see how alerts would be going crazy in such a situation.

That's good to know that with a future update it will be possible to totally disable all the nanny nags. Thanks for the immediate responses - that's a sign of a vibrant company with fortunate customers.

You will struggle to find a company with more responsive people. Every person is able and willing to take on the task to help. As a result I sure don't shy from enthusiastically boasting of the product.

Version 9.4.65 still has the - unwanted - exclamation point for terrain warning. I have Terrain Alerts disabled. Petty annoyance but an annoyance nontheless.

Shoud I just shut up about this?

Chuck,

Sorry about that. We did drop the Alert button flashing, unfortunately it does not fade yet. It gets a little more complicated as that alert button is used for several types of alerts, not just terrain.

We'll re-visit this to see if we can reduce the visual impact of that button if Alerts are set to disabled. If alerts are set to disabled, then we should not be popping that alert button for that type of alert. Look for this to be fixed in 9.5.

Thanks, Shane. I don't want to beat a dead horse - I just want to make sure we're talking the same lamguage. Any warning for something that has been disabled is counterproductive, whether it flashes, beeps, fades or whatever. I either have to select it and read "Terrain!", which I do not want or ignore it and possibly miss a warning I do want (obstacle, traffic, etc).

I see nothing wrong with using the same alert - in this case the exclamation point - for different situations. But if I deselect XXX alerting, I should receive NO alerts about XXX. That way, I know the exclamation point is telling me something I really do want to know.

As it is, I've trained myself to ignore the exclamation points and that is sub-optimal. As long as you understand my issue with this I'm happy.
