Thanks, Shane. I don't want to beat a dead horse - I just want to make sure we're talking the same lamguage. Any warning for something that has been disabled is counterproductive, whether it flashes, beeps, fades or whatever. I either have to select it and read "Terrain!", which I do not want or ignore it and possibly miss a warning I do want (obstacle, traffic, etc).
I see nothing wrong with using the same alert - in this case the exclamation point - for different situations. But if I deselect XXX alerting, I should receive NO alerts about XXX. That way, I know the exclamation point is telling me something I really do want to know.
As it is, I've trained myself to ignore the exclamation points and that is sub-optimal. As long as you understand my issue with this I'm happy.
