Any progress on making terrain and altitude warnings de/selectable? Specifically, I would like ZERO terrain warnings and no 500' callout (like the iFly used to have). Right now, I have a constant exclamation point that I've had to train myself to ignore. Thanks

Chuck,

We are looking at these alerts. Truly, we need to separate out into Terrain, Obstructions, Airspace, Info Alerts, Traffic, etc. Right no several are mixed and we should allow for more isolated alerts. Example I'd like to see Terrain off, but keep Obstructions on. Likewise, I'd like to turn Info Alerts like 500', Entering AirportZone off, yet while keeping the Airspace alerts on. It's on the wishlist of improvements, but no progress to my knowledge has been made on this. We are working on 9.4 at this time, which will include Winds Aloft, Winds Planning with new Weather Imagery and other enhancements.

Stay tuned, as we have to target these request based on demand, our current development plan and insert where we can without disrupting or delaying the flow to much. Thanks for your patience.

Nothing like dealing with audible and visual warnings while in the pattern and on final!

Why would such even creep into such a nice product.

I absolutely agree. My home airport sits within a couple hundred feet of a restricted area with up-slope terrain and mountains off the other end of the runway. My iFly pops so many warnings onto the screen when on approach that it renders it a distraction rather than an aid. My wish would be to be able to shut off all pop up screens and warnings. Audible warnings are fine, but please stop covering the nav screen with warnings that require a pilot response to clear. It is a distraction.

Thanks,

I've been shopping for a new navigator for awhile, quite a while actually, and have been following the iFly all along the way, checking in now and then.

I've never seen anything that so totally turned me off this product as reading just now that it will swamp you with "alerts", particularly at times when you least need distractions. If a person doesn't know where he is through the apparently excellent situational awareness that the iFly provides, they shouldn't be flying an airplane. Intrusive "alerts" are bad enough but to not be able to disable them makes this product completely beyond consideration until that is dealt with. The company is presuming the customer is too stupid to know where they are? For those that are that incompetent then fine, let them have their alerts. But to not be able to disable them, after all these years of software development, is really dissapointing. I hate distractions in the cockpit and I sure don't want "built in" ones coming at me from my primary navigational device.
