I just re-downloaded the Global Data as described above and, not only did it fix the Airspace isssue, the iPad now recognizes my iFly account. Previously, it would not. Yippee!

This app Rocks!

Best $20 I've spent in a while.

I just wanted to say that I downloaded the trial about a week ago, but haven't had a chance to actually fly with it. Well, a pilot friend needed me to fly him to another airport to pick up his plane today, so I brought the iFly app and my iLevil along to really test. I'm happy to say that I absolutely love the app!

I'm a bit of an avid technologist, so I've pretty much flown with every aviation app available for both iPad and Android and I am really liking the iFly. It just so happened to be good timing for me and I let my subscription to two other apps lapse this month just because I like the iFly app that much more.

The only problem I had was on the flight back, the app did seem to force close, but it opened right back up without issue. Do events like this get reported to you automatically?

Also, this may be mentioned somewhere else, but I'm also really excited about the iFly app because I had read that it was going to be released for Android as well, which is my preferred platform. Is this still something that I can expect in the near future?

What are the odds of having a fixed button (doesn't take multiple clicks to access) that let's us dim the screen brightness while the app is running? ForeFlight, WingXPro, and SkyRadar have this feature and it'd allow us to maximize battery life and tweak brightness quickly.

Thanks

That is great to hear. We think it is going to be a huge success, especially since you can run an iFly, iPad, and soon to come, an Android... all on the same subscription for only $19.99 more for the universal subscription option.

Additionally, keep in mind that this new interface you see on the iPad will be coming to the iFly 720 as well. Save some money and put that extra subscription money into your tank for an extra $100 hamburger run. Happy flying.

I hope we're looking at two different things. I downloaded the app to my ipad mini and it's neat but it is quite different than using it on the 720 and most definitely not a step forward. It looked like a kludge to get it working on an ipad. I hope either I got the wrong thing or the 720 doesn't turn into this. That'd be very disappointing.

Chad,

Yep, we are looking some options here. Keep in mind with iO7, you can swipe up from the bottom and there is a brightness bar there along with other setting. Not a button tought, but a single swipe. We haven't pushed this hard, because the swipe up to brightness is so easy.

As for power consumption. It's my understanding Apple does not let you control the actual brightness... when you dim on other app, you are technically psuedo-dimming the screen, not actually reducing the power consuption. It like digitally putting variable shade sunglasses on your screen image. Next time you dim your other app, look the the battery meter or Time, I beleive they will stay the same. I hope this helps and stay tuned.
