Shane and others,

After many phone calls with David W. (IFLY,S tech guy) whom was extremely eager to resolve my issue of my 720 not communicating with the wifi XPLORER, and many calls to FreeFlights tech dept. it was revealed from FreeFlights engineering that the two devices will not talk to each other without either WingX or FreeFlights app called ADS-B FREE being on an Ipad.

FreeFlights unwillingness to send over an evaluation unit so that AdventurePilot folks could tweak code for compatibility kind of sucks. Only after asking both tech departments if they would work together, did I order the XPLORER though my local avionics shop. Shane, I hope you guys will stay after Freeflight for a unit to create compatibility or I'll be forced to buy an Ipad and a program or buy another ADS-b reciever to display on the 720.

Shane,

That's great news. The electrical harness is dirt simple consisting of 12 volt on one pin and ground on two other pins. I could foward pages or schmetic from installation manual if needed or mail the whole manual to you if they don't send one with it. There are some led status lights and you would need to understand there function. For one, the IP address light has to go solid green, not flashing as in my case, for the two devices to communicate.

Kelly,

Thanks for the info. Everything helps. Also, let's see what we have to work with once we receive the Xplorer from FreeFlight. I'm hopeful that is will be a simple change to connect. Do you happen to know if it uses a Peer-to-Peer network or a true Access Point network? Thanks again.

Shane,

I put that question to Henry Bilingsley,Technical Ass. Mng. @800 487 4662 ext 503 and they say neither. It's a Fixed TCP IP network.

Thanks,

Kelly
