I fly a motorglider with a bubble canopy, so the gps display is often in full sunlight. I'm currently using an open source Android app, www.xcsoar.org, on a Dell Streak 5. The Dell Streak has a TFT display and is one of the most sunlight readable 5" smartphones.

I'm wondering what display technology is used on the iFly 700 and 720? Would it be as sunlight readable as the TFT display on the Dell Streak? And it sounds like the 720 is recommended over the 700 if sunlight readability is a concern?

Thanks.

I have used both the 700 and 720 in bubble canopy RVs ------ the 720 is pretty much sunlight-readable, not so the 700. Not sure how it compares to your smartphone, but my iPhone is about the same as the 720.
