The FBO manager at KMZZ said that he often gets a call from various fuel pricing resources (GobalAir, ForeFlight, etc.) inquiring about current fuel prices. He also said that he does not remember ever getting a call from iFlightPlanner regarding fuel prices.

Since their website showed the same outdated price as iFlightPlanner, I asked whether their website auto-updates from another resource. Turns out, he manually updates their website but had forgotten to do it this time, so he updated it then. Shortly after, iFly and iFlightPlanner both listed the correct fuel price (updated about 3-5 days ago). So, it looks like iFlightPlanner is getting the pricing from the airport website.

There are certainly a lot of variables here. But at least there seems to be a reasonable explanation of what happened in this case.

Mark, I ended up at I22 Winchester.  Price was 5.05, and if you paid cash or check 4.80.  I gave up on the pricing on IFly.  I just completed a flight to KHYI, and ended up checking AirNav, they seem to be the most accurate.  I number of places I called ahead.  It was just nice to have some accuracy on the tablet, during your flight in case you have to make a change of plans, will in the air.

Flying tonight and still prices are so fluid, hard to get correct.   I found errors such as at korh, which says self serve price.   After calling I was told they don't offer self serve.

Guess I'll try Airnav.

The fuel prices always updated quicker for me with old provider, I fly in  south east maybe that made a differences.

Updates are terrible now.

Just look at KGIF $3.75 fuel
