i thought that TFRs were downloaded when the weather was also downloaded.  today i flew around OR which has dozens of forest fire TFRs in effect and saw nothing.  fortunately i climbed to 10,000' to get above the clouds so was likely above any active TFRs.  i couldn't download current info before the flight, plus pop up TFRs wouldn't show up anyway.  so how does this info get to my unit?

from iFly ad, says it works live for FAA published TFRs.

Yup.  iFly consistently shows me the TFRs in my area.  I've not encountered a situation where I was aware of a TFR and iFly wasn't showing it.

That said, as mentioned in another thread, that doesn't mean the FAA is always including the TFR data in the ADSB broadcast.  If it's not there, there's nothing iFly can do about it.

Exactly. Best thing to do is update pre-preflight to make sure you have updated TFR info. Be safe up there!
