The most reliable (but time-consuming) way is to use Google Maps (maps.google.com), find the airport, click on Nearby, and choose Restaurants (or Hotels, if that's what you're looking for).

Agree, this what I usually end up doing.  It would be really nice if ifly could integrate with Google, I'm sure there is some developer interface.  I think the hard part would be defining the airport location so that it measures distance from the GA tie-downs or FBO rather than the center of the airport.  At the map overlay level, there could be an icon if Google returns a restaurant within a user defined distance if the FBO.  You could then select the airport and in addition to typical airport info, it could display the list of airports with their hours, cuisine, number of stars, phone number, etc as provided by the Google interface.

Jason:

I agree with the features you requested, but after trying many iterations of RP, I still find it much easier to do my own course manually using the rubber band feature since I know all the best paths, desired airport features, best altitudes and needed fuel stops

It takes me only a couple minutes to plan any course manually.

That said, many IFLY users seem to prefer the RP feature.

Obliquely, it should be noted that restaurants and other businesses can exist but not show up in Google Maps.  Click here for info... if the business isn't "Google-saavy" and verified itself, then it's possible it's not showing up.  Having said that, it's still probably the best resource, overall.

RealPlan probably doesn't apply to you if you already know your intended route, just save and reload flight plans.  When flying across multiple states and planning to avoid weather or reduce headwinds, it's very easy to fly a new or unique route.  RealPlan looks like it'll be a great tool for those types of flights.  Suggestion for integrated food is because it loses relevancy on flights where I still have to manually do research outside of the tool and manually modify the flight plan.
