All those facny download things are a waste of time.  Take the SD card to a PC, and you may have to get a USB to SD card converter if you PC doesn't have a slot for the SD card. Open IFly and click on Updates. Click on Create Update Package. Select only what you want. When done selecting, click on Create Update at the bottom. Then right click Save Link As, and save to the port the SD card is inserted. When it is done updating, remove the SD card and insert in the IFly with power off. When the plane is powered, IFly will ask how you want to do the update.  Choose SD card and you are finished once the data transfers. No magic.

Thanks Walter. Copying data directly from PC to SD card after updating the PC  works great. Thanks.

I tried moving the wxdata folder from my Android phone to my Surface tablet. There is something more that has to be done to get the app to recognize the new data. Any easy way to do that?
