Pretty sure the problem is the Stratux needs its own internal or external gps in order for AHRS to work.  The gps in the tablet is not enough.  My guess is gps data from the tablet is not available to the Stratux box.  Will know next week.

Correct, the Stratux software uses the GPS to correct sensor drift that accelerometers are prone to, and it doesn't have access to your tablet's GPS. So without its own GPS it can't complete the AHRS calculations.

I have a Stratux and, AFAIK, don't have GPS in it, but I do have the AHRS module, and it seemed to work fine.  I could see turns/banks/climbs/etc.

If you have the AHRS and it works, then you must have a GPS module.  From the required parts list at http://stratux.me/:  "GPS (optional without AHRS or required with AHRS): GPYes/internal or Vk-162/external".  You probably have the first one, which is very small and fits inside the case.

\For the OP, if you don't have GPS in your Strautx, then yeah, that's what you need.
