I would like to hardwire my ifly 720 power supply. I cut the 12 volt cigarette lighter cord and found a black and a white wire. Which is positive and which is ground?

Thanks

Rich

I would like to think I'd have verified that before I cut it, but there's a real possibility I wouldn't have after all.  Anyway, you should be able to either open the cigarette lighter end and see which terminals the wires are soldered to.  The center one *should* be the positive, and the ones on the side *should* be negative, since most systems are negative ground.  If you have an ohm meter, you should be able to just check continuity between one of the wires and one of the terminals on the cigarette lighter without opening the adapter.

Thanks Mike,

I bared the wires from the cigarette adaptor, plugged it into car and checked. White pos , black ground. The continuity idea will work. I will just check the continuity betwee the wires and  the plug at the ifly. Center hole should be positive. Will confirm once I confirm.

Rich,

Mike is correct that the center post is positive. We also sell hardwire cords on the Accessories page in the Store, for those not wanting to sacrifice their cigarette lighter plug.

Hope that helps,

-Shaun
