Navworx has a new banner on their site saying much of their operation is shifted to a company in Dallas. 

It speaks of the cost to upgrade the system so it is compliant with 2020 mandate. It does not mention the 600 EXP which is what I have.

The number of the Dallas group they give come up "out of service or disconnected."

Does anyone here have any information on where we are with Navworx, the FAA issue and the new Dallas Company?

It looks like they wany about $500.00 extra to get their systems compliant.

I called Navworx and left a voice and email message, but get no response.

I'm trying to determine if the $1500 I laid out for the unit is money down the drain.

I have been talking to Scott Edwards at Dallas Avionics over the past couple of weeks to see what is going on with the AD for their ADS600-B units which I have in my certified airplane.  I also spoke the FAA reps that are working the final decision.  They tell me it will be out in a week or two but would not tell me their proposed decision which is being made final at a higher level.  The Dallas AVionics rep. tells me that regardless of the decision, the existing users will have a unit that can be upgraded (for a fee) if the AD is put into effect.  There is a chance the proposed AD will be withdrawn if GPS receiver in the Navworx unit can show compliance with the relevant TSO.  I am anxious to know what will be needed to get this issue behind us.  My unit has worked flawlessly since I installed it.  The bottom line issue is the GPS receiver in the ADS600-b and ADS600-EXP do not have a FAA certified GPS which is needed to meet the 2020 compliance deadline.  The EXP units actually will never need a certified GPS receiver according to both the FAA reps and Dallas Avionics.  The proposed AD was in error regarding to non certified aircraft.   Dallas Avionics also told me that there is no need to upgrade to a certified GPS receiver in my certified airplane until 2020.  Regardless of what the final AD decision is.    

Yesterday, I received a reply from Dallas Avionics' Scott Edwards, the point man in this upgrade fiasco. According to Mr. Edwards, our friends and neighbors at the FAA have not certified the upgrade of  v. 1.0  to a RAIM compatible GPS. The company had expected approval on or about August 1st, 2017. So far my Navworx ADSB box is sitting on a shelf awaiting the upgrade.
