I sent an ADSB log, but I'm not sure it went through.

In fact when when I went back to select it the 2nd time it was gone.

Brian:

Thanks for working the "can't see adsb towers"  issue with me. It appears I may have wasted your time. Here's why.

I typically fly out of  Corona (KAJO) here in SoCal in the area between Fullerton and Palm Springs.

I looked for the towers in this area, but couldn't see them. So I sent a couple logs for you to peruse. In one of your responses you had a graphic of a map showing a tower about 20 miles north of El Monte Airport.

The next ime I flew I looked for that tower and could see it along with one more tower west of it just above LAX near the coast.

In the area that I typically fly my ADSB says I'm talking to 4-5 towers while at 3500 MSL. I am still curious why only two towers are depicted when I have 4-5. Thay can't be too far away if I receive them at 3500 MSL.

In summation, I guess my phone and tablet are showing towers so all must be OK technically with my equipment. Just wonder why only two of the 5. Next flight I am going to zoom way out and see if I can spot the rest of the towers.

Thanks again for the assistance. The IFLY staff is the most responsive support group I have ever delt with.

By the way. Does anyone know if there is a source where we can determine the location of towers while at our home computers. I will check Google Earth.

Brian:

Flew to 4500 feet over KAJO and zoomed out and could see several towers. And while doing this I may have found a graphic issue that prevents us from seeing adsb towers in some locations

I have found that while zoomed out the adsb towers at airports are visable. However as you zoom in the towers stay the same size while the airport depiction grows to the point where they actually cover the adsb towers.

Try this on any tower which is located at an airport. I used KSNA and could see the tower while zoomed out, but zooming in caused the airport symbol to grow to the point where the adsb tower was completely covered.

So if we want the towers to show when zoomed inthey will have to be enlarged along with the airport symbol.
