For the third try I still can't see the ADSB towers on my Samsung Note4 phone or my LG tablet even though I used to see them on a 38 hour trip I took in early June.

I could see that I had 4 towers talking to me at 3500 MSL, but even if I zoomed out or in with obstacles turned on or off I still can't see them with the "Show adsb Towers" option turned on.

Someone on the IFLY staff must have some suggestions for me.

Not having them isn't the end of the world, but it is just one more nicety provided by IFLY that I am missing out on.

Thanks for raising this issue.   I have now changed this for version 10.2, such that the option to toggle towers on/off, shows whether or not you are connected to an ADS-B device, for sake of consistency.   It has been (and will continue to be) accessible via *both* the Metar/TAF gear, as well as the Nexrad gear, from the Map Mode menu.   In 10.2, it will *always* be available, instead of only when ADS-B device is connected.

This option is ON by default, so you don't need special knowledge to turn it on, but rather only to turn them OFF.   So for 10.2, by making these options available to you while in-your-living-room on-the-couch, more pilots will be aware of this option, should they NOT want to see them.

Look for this change in 10.2.  It is already done for the first beta release. (I did it just this morning.)

Hi John, your issue is a special case.  The towers should be showing for you as well.  My best guess here is that the icon images might be corrupted, and if so, then there will be an error in the log file.   Please do "Menu => About => Send Bug Report" to send me your log file, and in the email comment reference this forums post.

Do you have more than one device with iFly?  If so, does this omission occur on both?

If this is not just a matter of a missing/corrupted image icon, then we could investigate it further by you sending me your ADSB recording.  To enable ADSB recordings, do the following:   Menu => About => Connected Devices => Wireless Device (scroll down) ==> [x] Enable ADS-B Logger

iFly will then create an ADSB recording that you can send with your next Bug Report (Menu => About => Send Bug Report => Select File => select the ADSB Raw bin).   From this log file, I can replay your entire ADS-B data stream, and see if there is good reason for seeing now towers.

Thanks for sending me the log John.  We'll handle resolution of this issue via email, and once resolved we'll post the conclusion back to here, so others can see.

Brian:

My version is 10.1.25. I could see the towers in June before this last release.

Phone is Samsung Note 4

Tablet is LG

ADSB system is Navworx 600EXP. Soon to be upgraded with hardware addition and software to make it legal again.

I don't see the towers on either device.

I'll do ADSB logging on my next flight...probably Monday and send it.
