Hi Jeff;

I don't know how to download the latest version of the Ifly gps software to my Ipad. Please give me directions on how to do this (I tried google searching and couldn't find anything on this).

What made me originally think that my Ipad was not connecting to the Lynx 9000 via Ifly gps was that the Lynx was showing traffic while the plane was on the ground (active traffic) but it wasn't showing on the Ipad ...

I'm going to take the plane up for a test flight today so I'll report back to you if I was able to receive weather & trafic.

Jeff

To update, go to the App store and search for iFly. If the button says "Update", click it to update. If it says "Open", then you've already got the latest version.

I'll be curious to know if the other apps show weather and traffic but iFly doesn't. If that's the case, then we know the connection is working and the issue is within iFly. Within iFly, be sure to click on the Map Mpde button and put a checkmark by METAR/TAF, NEXRAD,and Traffic. Tap the gear next to Traffic and set the Distance Visibility and Altitude Visibility to Unlimited so that it'll show all traffic, and zoom out on the map so it'll show at least 100 miles around you. I prefer to view the Vector map to see traffic and weather because it shows up much better on the white background. I tried to find detailed instructions from Lynx on how to connect to their wifi, but came up short.

Good luck!

Hi Jeff;

OK, did the update of the Ifly software as you suggested and selected traffic (map mode) and selected unlimited on altitude & distance. Traffic was not selected yesterday when we were trying to connect with the Lynx so it's probably no surprise that I didn't see the traffic while on the ground, right?

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support ... I love this Ifly gps app so much compared to all the other apps, it's so intuitive.

I'll give you a report when I get back from my test flight this morning.

To give credit where credit's due, it was Walter that suggested you update to the latest version. As the owner of the company and one of the principal Software Engineers, he has much better insight into issues such as this. I'm just a typical user like yourself who also thinks this app is the best. In the 4+ years I've used it, I've probably logged 600 hours with it both VMC and IMC. It's come a long way in that timeframe, and there's no telling what they've got up their sleeve for future versions.
