I was aware of the earlier problem... here is the latest.

Dear SkyGuardTWX Vision-Pro Plus Customer:

You are being notified because you have purchased a SkyGuardTWX Vision-Pro Plus ADS-B Transceiver or Transmitter with Squawk/Pressure Altitude Detection. The reason for this notification is because we have recently been contacted by the FAA and they are requiring us to change the way we report Pressure Altitude in the ADS-B broadcast message. This is a minor change, but unfortunately will require that we update each unit’s firmware. This update requires that you send the unit back to us and we install the new firmware, fully test the unit, and then ship back to you. There will not be any charge to perform the update but you will have to pay shipping charges to get the unit to us and we will pay the return shipping charge. Again, we consider this as a minor change but the FAA is requiring us to make the update as soon as possible. We have approx. 200 of these type units in the field, so it will take us several months to work through all the updates. We will be notifying each of our customers via an individual email starting with the earliest buyers first and working forward. Please do not send an email or call requesting to return your unit before you receive your individual email notification with an RMA # attached. Meanwhile, you can continue to fly with your unit and if the FAA contacts you concerning this issue, tell them you are on the “SkyGuardTWX Pressure Altitude Firmware Update List” and will get it resolved within 3 to 4 months.

We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we are working through these firmware updates. Look for an additional email with further details coming shortly. Remember that those who just recently purchased their units may not receive this email for a couple of months. If you have purchased your unit after Nov. 23, 2016, then you will not receive the return email as all units produced and sold after this date already have the updated firmware.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Don Houtz

Thanks for posting that. Since I don't have a pressure altitude reporting unit, I was not familiar with that.
