Greetings.

I searched the forums and did not find anything on IFly automatically entering waypoints on an IFR flight. In other words, if I am flying from airport A to airport B, when I load the procedure, does the program enter the waypoints I have to fly? If not, may I recommend this feature?

Hi Charlie,

I assume you're talking about flying an instrument approach at the destination. This has been mentioned before and I believe it's on the list for a future enhancement. I've tapped and entered the waypoints manually, but I've found that the width of the route line invariably obscures some important information, such as an altitude or heading. For that reason, if it's a true heads-down IMC approach I usually clear the flight plan once I'm on the page and fly the black lines on the plate. Maybe when it's implemented, the route line can be made smaller when it overlaps an approach plate.

With the latest 9.6.11, once on an Approach Plate, if you touch the "Plates" button and then enter Full Screen Plate mode, then you will see the route line thinned out and the default is also to remove the instruments too. If this does not work for you, please let us know as there may be a bug.

I don't know if is possible, feasible to thin the route line once it hits the plate area. This is why we did it to the Full Screen Plate Mode. I hope this helps.

Also, we are working on "auto-loading" the procedure waypoints for a future software release. Beleive it's tenatively on the plan for 9.8, barring any major issues.

Sounds great! All my approaches lately have been VMC and "expect a visual" approaches, so I haven't even displayed a plate in a while. Thanks for being proactive.
