Currently I use a set of homegrown Bash scripts, Perl programs, and launchd plists along with to keep an updated set of charts on my GRT EFIS USB keys so that I always have an updated one in the computer that I can grab when I head out to fly.

I would like to do the same thing with my iFly SD cards. That is, leave one in the computer and have a program that checks for updates periodically, updates as necessary on new cycles, and is ready to go without manual intervention.

Before I run iFly Connect through Wireshark and a proxy to figure it out, has anyone already done this? Can anyone give me any insight into update process etc?

Cheers

Hi Ed

I understand the b/w concern. I have written my other app for the plates to be highly b/w efficient. Essentially it only gets a few bytes and checks a version and then bails if the version hasn't changed. My intention is to write this the same way. It looks like there is a manifest XML file that I can probably check, if nothing else. Anyhow, it would be no more comsumptive of b/w than someone logging in to the forum or elsewhere once a day, and probably less.
