Am trying to figurewhat heading is displayed on the 720. I realize it's a "GPS heading" (ie it shows track made good, as they used to say) but I read somewhere that a GPS can be (mathmatically) made to be referenced to magnetic north. On approach to Rwy 28 today my IFly was showing a "heading" of almost exactly 280 degrees.

My question I guess is: on the IFly compass rose, what is that referenced to? True north or magnetic north?

Regards, Dave Harvey.

Dave,

The heading is referenced based on the setting from the Setup. Touch Menu -> Setup -> Units of Measure. You can select from True North or Magnetic North. The defualt is set to Magnetic North. This is the most practical setting. Hope this helps.
