Here is an idea that I don't think any GPS vendors are offering.
It is an adjustable holding pattern "rubber stamp", that could be used with enroute charts.
When ATC issues a holding pattern while enroute, you would call for the rubber stamp from a menu selection.
The rubber stamp would be placed on the issued fix, and then rotated to align with the fix radial.
There are two patterns, standard right hand turns or non-standard left hand turns.
I have shown a standard hold pattern in this example.
The stamp would have to work at any zoom level and any tracking mode i.e. North up or follow plane.
This takes a lot of Single Pilot IFR Workload off of the pilot.
It shows how to enter, either direct, teardrop or parallel plus it is geocoded to show generally when to start standard rate turns.
You are working on a stopwatch already. This is a perfect example of needing a stopwatch popup to time the legs of a holding pattern. Typically 1 minute legs but they are variable based on ATC instructions.
Let me know if you are interested and I can provide more details.
