Thanks for your continued palns to offer an add-on capability for automotive use!!! It will not detract from those who don't want it and will add a highly useful capability for the rest of us. I hope this update becomes available BEFORE the Summer vacation driving season in July 2011. I bought my iFly unit based on your earlier statement that you hoped to add the auto capability. eagerly look forward to its arrival in the NEAR future.

I suppose there's still a market for GPS appliances in the car today, but that market will only be shrinking in the future as smartphones become ubiquitous. My Android phone with Google Maps and its integrated Navigation feature that provides verbal turn-by-turn directions does everything I need. Even gives a street view of the final address so I know what to look for when I'm closing in.

My iFly will be staying in the plane.

I have used GPS auto route mapping in my iPhone and the small screen makes using a smart phone dangerous while driving. The iFly's larger screen is more practical in a car, just like it is in a plane.

I don't look at my Android phone when I'm driving. I let the GPS lady who lives inside my phone read off the turn-by-turn directions for me.

I would not take my eyes off the road to look at any screen--4 inches, 7 inches, or 20 inches--while I was driving, nor would I read a paper map while driving. Flying is usually a little more forgiving about letting you look at things inside the cockpit for a few seconds at a time.
