I'm reposting this since it got lost in a few derailed posts.

Terrain Alerting (in fact, all alerting) should be totally selectable/ deselectable). If a user deselects an alert, they don't want ANY alerting for that. I.e, no aural warning, no pop-up, no flashing screen, no '500 call, no exclamation point. None.

With the latest release, I have Terrain Alerts disabled yet I have a constant red exlamation point for terrain. I've trained myself to ignore it and that is a very sub-optimal solution.

I've been asking for this since iFLY changed the logic (in the round button days, this was not an issue). If the decision has been made to not allow TOTAL disabling of a certain alert, that's fine - I'll live. But until I know that, I'm going to keep asking.

Thanks.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one who's learned to ignore the flashing altert button. (Seems a natural response to too much stimulus.)

Forcing at least some portion of the terrain alert on always is wise.

I don't agree "it is wise" if it is blocking something even more important.

Realize the custom instruments can be moved and providing key navigation information to avoid something. Which happens for me, and is very frustrating.

I like the alerting on Terrain and only objection to  not being able to  deselect it is:  When I depart and arrive from my  " not on the chart  airport"  I get all the  alerts possible . It would be nice to be able to  say this is my  user  selected airport and OK not to alert my  terrian ,  Hey lady ,we're  landing here anyway!
