The push pin power connections are weak and prone to wear. A more positive, durable power connection is needed.

The slide on mount fitting arrangement on the 740 is extremely weak, loose, can detach when unexpected and is generally a poor design. The 720 t-slot arrangement was a somewhat better but still a weak spot. I'm considering epoxy to secure the ram mount ball to the 740 case. Probably a detriment for future trade in value.

Noted on the power cable. Thanks for the feedback.

We've had good feedback on this new Richter Mount. Please contact our support department if you are having issued with that RAM Ball mount. We had some that seem to be loose from the supplier. We have a newer version available.

I second the motion for a better power connector. The insulator in the power plug slides out of the plug on the aircraft power cable sometimes. So far, I've been able to retrieve and re-install it. I now carry a spare power cord. Although they are a bit large, I recomment the Anderson PowerPole connectors. They are robust.
