I searched but did not find this in the wish list.

Many airports have a phone number to call their ATIS/AWOS. I see this on the airport information page but can not select it to go to my phone's dialer. I live in South Florida where weather changes fast and I like to call the number for weather conditions on my way to the airport. I find this to be a nice feature in most smartphone apps. The same would go for any referenced phone number like the FBO or even a web site link that would open my browser.

Would that lock up a phone or tablet if you accidently tapped it while flying? IDK. I create contacts on my phone for calling the ASOS numbers on the way to the airport. The last thing I do before crawling in the airplane is call the local ASOS. I list them such as KGVL ASOS, so they all show up together in my contacts list.

No, OldPilot. The idea is to launch the dialer page with the phone number pre-populated. Then you hit the "dial" button to actually make the call.

Even if it jumped straight to dialing the call, it wouldn't lock up if there's no signal. Just press the button to hang up, and you'd be back in the iFly app.

I like the idea.

I think it's a great idea, thanks for the suggestion

I do too. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't lock up the phone or tablet trying to make a call in airplane mode or without a cellular tower connection, etc. I know that happens sometimes when the device is trying to download data with no connection.
