I'd like to be able to set aircraft position, speed, direction or next waypoint, and altitude at a point on a flight plan to see how iFly handles VP, landing modes, and etc, before doing the real thing. :)

David,

In Sim Mode, you can plan a flight, set altitudes and then fly the flight using the Sim controls to simulate your flight. The software will make the VP active and you'll see how airspaces, terrain, Vertical Speed to Target works and more, just like if you were flying the plane. All the Terain, Airspace and obstacle databases are active in Sim mode, and will active change depending on the phase of flight or proximity to an airport.

Have you tried planning a flight with landing points and a set cruise altitude, and then flown the route with Sim mode. If this is not working, then we have a bug, but we do extensive testing in sim mode and it seems to be working fine on my tablets and devices.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you Alerts, VP, etc is not working in Sim Mode.

I have the flight plan set, altitudes in it set, and so on. When I turn on Sim mode, I cannot set where the airplane is, nor it's direction, nor it's destination, nor can I set it'/'s altitude. There are for (five?) arrows in a little box that allow noe of this -- or I can't figure out how to use them. :(

This is on Android Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with latest OS and (I think) latest iFly (even though the icon says "Beta" and I'm not on the beta tester team.

The route is 900+ miles, altitude set at 3,000, 3 landings along the route specified in the flight plan (but that changes none of the fuel info.)

The sim apparently starts at whatever airport is currently "selected" for viewing in the plan and I cannot change it, Nor it's direction and the sim plane does not follow the flight plan at all.

David,

Try to pan to put the red + "crosshair" on the departure waypoint. Then "Begin Simulation" in the About Menu. Sim Mode starts at the center of the sreen so puting the red "+" at any point on the screen allows you to begin anywhere.

Once you begin the Sim, then the small box of controls will show up. The two to the upper left are Speed +/-, the two to the upper right are Altitude +/- and the two on the bottom are Track Left / Right. Use these arrows to change Speed, Altitude and your Direction. You should see the Speed, Track and Altitude begin to change. If you are not seeing this, please feel free to contact our support team at 888-200-5129.

I also recommend to make sure you have the latest version of iFly GPS. You can search iFly GPS on the Play Store for an update. The current version is 8.4.84. You can check your version by touching Menu -> About -> Version & Contact. Then look under the iFly Version.

Look forward to hearing back from you. Have a great day.

Hmmm. My version says 8.3.42 of 9/12/14. It has always automagically updated itself before.

(Boy, it would be nice to see the thread while trying to answer the last post, or at least the last post and not the first post..)
