Once again I update the 700 only to find its not only off timewise but its not the normal one hour behind. Its 0045 on saturday and the I fly says its 1552 on friday afternoon. More fiddling as usual and trying to remember how to reset the clock....oh yeah, the satellites are supposed to do the setting. I unplug and reboot and . . . still 1553 on friday. I go into the miscellany to try and fiddle with time zones....its set on eastern time because indiana east doesn't work. I try setting to pacific time and reboot. It comes up an hour behind pacific. Now I reset to eastern ( this is really tough because my finger is too big and the pen won't make it work) finally get it done. green x and unplug, reboot and one hour behind now so its 0050 on saturday in real life and 2350 on the gps. Try again and inadvertently hit indiana east time zone....unplug, reboot and now its right. I'm not touching it again til the next update which will be a long time. I use the clock on the unit and its one of the reasons I want the gps. Isn't there some way to fix the update process so it doesn't screw this up? Its a computer....it should be simple (says the old nerd who doesn't program computers).

Thanks

Frank

I too have had some date and time errors on my '720 running production software with the original SkyRadar. On the last couple of flights I noticed the NextRad screen constantly showed the data to be 26 to 32 minutes old, so this morning I took a look at the metars and they were all incorrect as to the actual weather and indicating around -248 minutes old for all reporting airports.

After landing I exited the iFly program and found the date indicating 5/3/2014 and the time off by about 24 minutes. I turned off the SkyRadar receiver, and checked a few other things, then turned off the '720 and headed home. When I got home the time and date are correct?

My theory: I have the '720 set to use ADSB GPS input if available and its not getting time and date info from that source. Today when I turned off SkyRadar a few minutes before the '720, it went internal for GPS data and corrected the time and date after landing. The '720 never acquired sats when I got home, nor did it connect to my wifi.

Any ideas?

David

My clock is always off by at least several days, hours, and minutes. I have a 700. I can undertand this when sitting at desk without GPS, but it is off a lot of the time when I have the connection, such as now. It is 5/25/14 13:15 and the iFly front page says 5/19/14 13:32? On the GPS status page the GTC time appears to be incorrect with 8 sats and "good" for test. The clock on the instrument screen says 13:32. I even have a waas indication. I have tried all of the GPS resets.

The GPS page is now showing the correct time. It does not indicate a date? The front page and clock on instrument screen are still wrong by the same amount.

Guys, I'm going to escalate this on our bug list. If you have a GPS lock, really the clock should be correct. You do of course need to specify your desired time zone, but for a future release we have a feature request to automatically determine that. Sorry for the problems.
