I took my iFly 700 for it's first flight yesterday on a severe clear and bright day and moonless dark night. I was very impressed with the funtionality, ease of use, and performance of the unit. As long as it proves as rugged and lasts as long as the units from Garmin, Honeywell, etc this will be hands down the best price/performance aviation GPS available (even before the planned software feature additions).
Although more display brightness is always welcome I had no real difficulty using the unit during the day (although the diplay was never in direct sunlight). With only one flight under my belt the only feature I wished I had was the abiltiy to continue to dim the display (all the way to black). Even with the brightness turned to it's lowest level and using the Vector (Night) mode I found it too distracting to keep the display on. I would love to be able to keep dimming until the brightness was acceptable. When checking airport information and using the low-altitude chart the white backgrounds made for a very bright image. Inverting the text/background in night mode would be very helpful. I resorted to using the remote which found it's way to the floor from my lap several times and had to be tracked down via flashlight (I plan to velcro the remote to the yoke.)
So far a great product.
