Walter: After a recent trip, 20 days, 41.6 hours, 4850 nm, I have a suggestion. Would it be reasonably possible to change the zoom levels from 1 thru 7 to miles? Example: Zoom level 1 might be 5 miles, level 2 10 miles, and so forth. Great unit, I am very satisfied with it. Dan
Thanks Dan, glad you like the unit. The iFly scales are dynamic based on the chart being shown. All the sectionals are the same scale, but the low-enroutes are all different, as are the TAC charts (coming soon). The iFly scales are normalized so that "Level 4" is about the same size as the actual paper chart, regardless of the chart scale. So having pre-defined mileage based zoom levels won't work very well - however it would be very reasonable to show the miles-per-inch, or such, when switching between scales.
Thanks, Walter
Since level 4 is "normal" size for whatever chart, what if you re-named level 4 as zero, or normal, 0,1,2,3 as minus whatever the percent zoom is, and 5,6,7... as plus whatever the percent zoom?
I really like this idea. We could also put, in parens, the miles per inch for the particular chart that is being shown.
what about a "sliding scale" instead of having to step through the zooms,.. or as option to stepping through?
