These are good suggestions but I think adding these data fields on the active map page would be too much screen coverage. Yes, I know we can setup our basic or advanced instruments but it leads me to another idea.....
Since certain info is not always actively required (like these), what about having one button that would bring up or toggle a secondary instrument page? Perhaps have it automatically switch back (if you are not inputting) to the main after a short amount of time so its a 1 input affair. On such page you wouldn't even need to display a map - it could be setup by the user like an instrument pannel with whatever instruments they require and you can make them look a lot cooler (like real instruments maybe) :-).
This method could also be used to toggle between map and synthetic vision in the future....hint....hint
