It seems it would be nice to have the option to have iFly Auto Zoom the map. For example, on departure, and enroute it would display (perhaps a user selectable) 20 miles ahead. As the arrival point came within that range it would automatically zoom in so the destination would be at one side of the screen, the plane on the other.

This Auto-Zoom request is on the wishlist. Keep in mind we do auto transition from Taxi Diagram to Chart, etc with our AutoTaxi. We try to limit Auto doing to much as there is a presumption that everyone would want this, but maybe as a user selectable option. Thanks for the feedback, I'll make note of this on our Wish-List.

I believe that auto zoom would be most useful when approaching to land at an airport, with scale gradually zooming in to approach plates and/or the airport diagram

This is commented on the wishlist for this AutoZoom Feature. I would tend to agree with you and it could be prompted by zooming to a Pinned Plate or Diagram, or if you have that waypoint set as a "Land Here" point. We've got some good feedback on this one to go one. Thanks.

As long as there's a way not to use autozoom. (As there already is a way not to use AutoTaxi+.) Autozooming drives me nuts on street map apps and I always disable it. (Takes my slow brain too long to get reoriented.) In flight, I tend to stay wide angle, especially now that I can see traffic with Stratux. (I like seeing who is 10 miles out and approaching the airport.)
