In what display modes will we see traffic (if there is a signal)? Is this only in Vector mode, or others as well?

I've had alerts with specific target info pop up when using sectional mode. It's only happened a handful of times. I've never seen the target indicated on the screen, just the pop up text warning.

Right now ADS-B traffic warnings are so infrequent that they are completely useless. Weather on the other hand is very, very good.

You will see traffic alerts and icons in all map modes. The icon will be a small dot and hard to see, unless it's being highlighted as an alert. If it's within range (typically 5nm +/- 3000ft), it will be a red, blue, or green triangle with a line depicting heading & speed.

I just received my Skyradar-L and I don't see weather (I checked my settings) or traffic. I would like to make sure I have the correct settings. To test the system, I have to use a cigarette connection with the Skyradar-L so I need to be in my car. I drove to the end of the runway area park just north of DCA Reagan National and saw that the ADSB LED on the Skyradar-L lit up as each airplane past me. I expected to see weather on the iFly 700 weather planning page but did not see it. I also expected to see airplane traffic when I was in one of the map modes on my iFly 700 but did not see it. Please e-mail me so that I can coordinate a phone call with someone at Adventure Pilot so I can check out my settings at the airport while on my cell phone in my car or please remind me what the settings should be so I can get the ADSB data to work before I have to return my newly purchased Skyradar-L.

Thanks!

My experience has been that I need to be in the air before the ADSB picks up weather. For me 1000ft AGL but I'm sure that varies depending on location and proximity to (I believe ground based) transmission stations. I strongly doubt you'll be able to get any weather on the ground your car.

I usually still pull a Wx update via Memory stick for planning and intial load and then ADSB takes over in the air.
