How do I wire my ifly 700 to accept and view HDMI video streaming? The ifly manual talks about external AV and external camera capability, but not being intimately knowledgeable about the various technologies I need guidance on how to make it all work. A search of this forum did not turn up any answers.
What I want to accomplish is to use the 700 as the viewfinder for aiming a Contour 1500 video camera I am hardmounting in my airplane. It has no viewfinder of its own. The Contour does contain bluetooth for sending the video to a smartphone, but I get along just fine thankyouverymuch without Mr. iphone and see no need to spend the money just for this purpose. Since I am doing nothing beyond aiming, picture quality or video speed or storage is unimportant. The female receptacle in the camera is a HDMI type A. The easiest solution is a connecting cord w/ male HDMI type A at one end for the camera and male USB type A at the other end for connecting to the ifly, but will it function electronically? Or am I limited to the AV-in and/or R-cam sockets? Surely someone has already posed this question.
