Rich,

We have iFly 740's that just arrived and we are prepping them for shippment. Feel free to contact me at 888-200-5129, x 804 and I can fill you in. Once we get the Pre-Orders all shipped out, we will be offering a Trade-Up program to the masses shortly.

Old Pilot is correct, the iFly 740 will top itself off with each use. It's a lithium polymer battery that is circuit protected. It should last for years without issue.

The battery can be replaced, it's just not an exposed battery that was intended for the general population to change. We will be able to creplace it if needed.

Could I ask, what would/could be the price for replacing this battery, how long of a turn-around/shipping time involved, etc. but you should be able to give a ballpark estimate, my personal view on this subject is All devices basic services should be accessible to the consumer, just Imagine if you had to send your Camera/phone to the point of purchase for replacing the battery.

Ciao

I just found the photos of the 740 and it looks like there will be a new mounting system. Will there be a RAM mount option?

Also, will I be able to simply move the SD card from the 720 to the 740 and be up and running, asuming current updates, including streets?

I'm seeing a possibility of keeping the 720 for AHRS instruments, airport info, etc., while navigating with the 740, etc. I'm guessing that the multi-device subscription will still apply?

Don,

There will be a New Ram Ball Adapter for the 740. It will be added to the shop this week and it will retail for $25. Also, the 740 will come with a completely loaded 16gb SD card.

As for swapping the SD cards, since both units have separate licenses and serial numbers, you would not want to just swap the SD cards as you'd get a license mismatch error.

Finally, yes the Multi-Device Subscription would allow you to use both your iFly 720 and 740 on the same subscription.
