Did the addition of seamless charts mean that you had to go back to the old scanned charts? They don't seem to be as good a quality as the new electronic charts you were using in v7.x. Am I just imagining it?

There's been no change in charts except the adoption of the new chart format the FAA started delivering a month or two ago.

I think Walter posted somewhere that while the FAA updated all their charts to the new format, some of the charts they updated hadn't actually expired yet, so unless you force an update of all charts, your device might have a mix of old + new formats for a while. Could that be what you're seeing?

I must have dreamed I read seamless charts somewhere. Sorry about that.

As for chart quality, I know the charts of my area have been updated. They look great on my other devices. Could be a screen resolution thing, but I was seeing what looked like compression artifact.

in the case I do have an older chart still in the mix, I'll ditch the maps and reload fresh copies. Thanks for the idea.

Best regards,

Chris

Maybe part of what you"re seeing is that IIRR in version 8xx we can now zoom in closer than we used to.... So view gets fuzzier at high magnification.

Alex

p.S., does anyone other than me some times get whited out lower fifth of the screen/sectional occasionally when zooming in full zoom?
