I went from MDW to MQJ Friday for the AOPA fly in. On the way down the map started to show a white band on the botom (where I was headed). I don't know if this was the same white band another poster asked about or the normal bottom of the sectional, as I didn't see their post until today. Anyway, I hit the Change Maps button, and it changed me to (what I think was) the upper portion of the Cincinatti Sectional, the part showing textual information. I don't know if it was supposed to do this, but I was looking for it to change to the appropriate map depiction. I eventually got what I was looking for, but it seems the continuation of graphic map information should be the first choice.

I used iFly Connect just a few days before, I have all charts selected, and always have. There was a map there, but when I hit the "Map" button, or whatever it says, the next map displayed was the Cincinatti map. I wouldn't mind which map gets displayed, but this switch essentially put me from "Off" of one map, to "Off" of the other map. It was part of the chart, but it was the corner with the title, and other text type stuff.

I did eventually get to a chart that showed the terrain and such, I think it was the St. Louis Sectional, but it seems to me it should have gone to that one first.

I just fired up the iFly and scrolled down to about where I was, Noblesville, IN (Just NE of IND for those that would like to play along) when this happened. When I push the "Map" button on t he remote/"Switch Map" button on the screen, it first changes to the Legend of the Cincinatti Sectional, with my destination the white area just to the right of where it says "L-Lighting in operation Sunset to Sunrise", the next push of the button shows the Detroit Sectional, with my destination not even on the white part of the image. The third push displays the St. Louis Sectional, the one I thought should have been displayed first. A fourth push brings back the Chicago Sectional.

Had I not messed with it, I presume the iFly would have switched to the St. Louis Sectional on its own.

Correct, it would have sorted itself out. The behavior is a little different if you are panning /zooming around, for obvious reasons: If you are specifically trying to view a specific sectional or border information, we don't want to yank you back to what iFly thinks is the "best" map for your location. But when you are in motion, and in "Follow Plane" mode, the app would pick the best chart.
