My setup...iFly 720 charger plugged into aircraft cig lighter plug, which is the high dollar socket that was professionally installed in aircraft when built. There is quiet a bit of additional noise coming through the headset with the charger plugged in. When I pull the plug for the charging cable, the noise mostly, if not all goes away. Has anyone else experienced this? I may chalk it up as the non-shielded wire going to the ifly battery. Anyone else have this issue, plz let me know so I (we) can rectify this. I'm not sure which way to turn at this point. Thx, DM

Had similar problem when I installed a JPI450 fuel flow gauge in my plane. My 12V power strip was radio shack so put some capacitors across + and - to filter out AC noise. Helped some. Finally had to put more caps right at the intercom DC input to eliminate. Good luck.

Where exactly...did you put the caps? In the socket (in dash) of plane or inside the plug end of supply? I can hardly imagine fitting anything inside of the plug. I'm capable, but seems it would be easier to find a filtered strip up adopter already made. Maybe it's out there. Thx for laying this out for me. DM

You are right to suspect the battery cable. In my case, it was the line from the battery to the iFly that was the culprit. I was able to get a different cable from AP that has a magnetic choke on it, and that knocked the interference way down, but didn't completely eliminate it. I still have to be somewhat careful about how I route that cable, or I'll still get interference.

I think such clip-on magnetic chokes can be found at hobby electronics shops, or online. They're inexpensive, and maybe worth a shot before soldering caps behind the panel somewhere.

In that device I can probably put some capacitors in there if I knew what I was doing. I won't be going behind the panel and wiring anything in there differently
