I'll have to call support also because I have the same problem with my 700.

Thought maybe I was doing something wrong or wouldn't find custom waypoints.

Never mind. Apparently I wasn't doing the "Perform full text search (slower)" checkbox.

I rebooted my 720 and tried again and this time it had no problem finding my user waypoint. I thought I was in high cotton until I went to enter a new flight plan and it wouldn't find any airports. That was a fairly easy fix - I got rid of full text searches and it found all the airports I was looking for in that flight plan. I figured it could do both together albeit slowly but that wasn't the case. I put a fairly long string of identifiers in (using the initial K where appropriate) and it couldn't find them. I eventually just put my home airport in and it couldn't find it. That's when I got rid of the full text search and it worked.

Either I don't understand something about how the unit works (pretty likely actually) or there's either a quirk or a bug that I'm encountering. I will play with it some more to figure out how to recreate the problems before I bug the help desk. And by the way, I have nothing but kudos for your customer support.

Don: Don't think there are bugs. Just use the quick search button when you already know the ICAO airport or fix identifier(s). You do not need to use the "K"prefix. However in cases where there is a VOR on the field that shares the same identifier, then use the "K" to indicate you want the airport and leave the "K" off when you want the navaid or fix as a waypoint. Use the full text search when you do not know the ICAO ID code, but are searching using the full name or by location, etc. By the way, you can enter an entire flight plan by entering a string of ICAO identifiers all at once in the entry box, each one separated by a space between IDs. Example: "KDAY APE CTW KPIT". Enjoy! ====Ralph
